Pastor Ken Clendaniel and family joined Oakwood Wesleyan in the summer of 2004. He has served as a youth pastor in various churches since graduating Bible College and now serves as Oakwood's eleventh pastor. Pastor Ken graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College in 1993 with a B.A. in Missions with a minor in Pastoral Studies. He is currently working on his Masters of Arts in Christian Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University and plans to graduate the summer of 2010.
He is married to Missy and his family also includes a fifteen year old son named Casey who loves to draw, a ten year old daughter named Carmen who loves to sing and dance, a nine year old son named Cory who loves sports and a four year old son named Cameron who simply loves to get into everything!! Oh, plus there's a dog named Cosmo running around the house as well. The Clendaniel house is NEVER boring!!
Jim McDermott is the leader of the men's ministry at Oakwood. He came to Maryland in 1990 after spending four years in the United States Marine Corp. He joined the Anne Arundel County Police Department and began his training patrolling the streets of Anne Arundel County. After working patrol for about seven years, he began working with the D.A.R.E. Program, teaching drug and violence prevention to the 5th and 7th grade students in the Anne Arundel County Public School system. Currently, Jim is a School Resource Officer in Meade Middle School and is working on earning a degree in Biblical Studies from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Missy Clendaniel is the part time volunteer secretary for the church. She met Pastor Ken in Bible College and they celebrated 17 years of marriage this past summer (2009). She has an A.A. Degree in Bible from Hobe Sound Bible College and is currently working on her B.A. in General Christian Studies with a minor in Office Management. Oakwood is Missy's home church...she grew up in this church and has now returned as "pastor's wife".
Carole Gibson is the leader of the women's ministry at Oakwood. She also heads up the Friday after-school program called "Veggie Connection". She is the mother of four children, two of which are still at home and she has recently married a wonderful guy named Mark who is an avid duck-pin bowler.
